Shelton Striders run the Belvoir Challenge

Shelton Striders had 7 distance runners take part in the Belvoir Challenge on Saturday 23rd February around the Vale of Belvoir taking part of the course through the Duke of Rutland's estate.
5 runners chose the 15 mile distance, which in fact turned out to be nearer 17 miles.

292 ladies finished this distance:
Judith Marriott was 35th lady in 2 hours 51 mins
Kate Wray 40th lady in 2 hours 53 mins, her first attempt at this race.
Alison Read, accomplished Shelton Strider lady completed the course in 3 hours 29 mins.

421 men finished this distance:
Wayne Moore 109th male in 2 hours 43mins, first run out at this course.
John Read, long standing member of Shelton Striders completed the course in 2 hours 55 mins.

2 runners chose the 26 mile distance.
Gayle Gamble finished an amazing 7th out of 33 runners in 4hours 45 mins (a first time run at this distance).
John Thornton, the experienced finished 15th out of 126 runners in 3 hours 59 mins.
