CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION

Shelton runners at a Championship event. The Shelton Striders Club Championship is our own internal competition, comprising road races over a variety of distances, from 5 miles to marathon.

The series usually consists of around 10-12 races, with points being awarded for finishing positions within the club. In each race, the highest placed Strider in his/her category will be awarded 50 points, the 2nd highest 49 and so on. The best 6 scores are added together for a final points total, the winner being the person with the highest score. Subject to levels of participation, prizes are awarded in different age categories.

At several of the races, there are fun runs and a similar competition is run in these, with prizes for juniors of different ages and for adults.

Regular reports on Championship events can be found on the newsletter page or by getting a copy of Striding Out at the club on a Wednesday or Friday evening.
